JK Rowling
JK (Joanne Kathleen) Rowling was born in July 1965 at Yate General Hospital in England. She grew up in Chepstow, Gwent where she attended school at Wyedean Comprehensive. JK left Chepstow to enroll at Exeter University, where she earned a French and Classics degree. She earned her french degree by taking a one year course in France. She later moved to Lonson where she worked as a researcher at Amnesty International and many other jobs as well. She started writing the Harry Potter series when her train from Manchester to London King's Cross was delayed. Then, over the next 5 years she outlined the plots for each book and started writing her first Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Joanne then moved to Northen Portugal, where she was an English teacher at a school. She got married in October 1992 and gave birth to her daughter Jessica in 1993. When she got divorced a couple of years later she and Jessica moved back to the UK and lived in Edinburgh, Where Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was finally completed. In 2001 JK Rowling married Neil Murray and David, her son, was then born in 2003. Jessica and David had a little sister Mackenzie who was born in 2005.BY: Amalia Boutrup
