The Secret Identity of Devon Delaney
*****
By: Lauren Barnholdt

The Secret Identity of Devon Delaney is a book about a girl named Devon. Devon's parents were going through some marriage issues over the summer so they sent Devon and her little sister Katie to their Grandmother's house. While they were there Devon met a girl named Lexi. Since Devon thought there was no way Lexi would meet her friends and family back home, Devon created a more stylish and popular alter ego based on herself. But, on the first day of 7th grade Devon found out that Lexi was in her class! Devon struggled in keeping Lexi from finding out the truth behind her lies. When Lexi and everyone else found out Devon had lied she felt as if her whole world was coming crashing down. In the end Devon found a way to make everything right again and was accepted again as a friend by Lexi and the "A-list crowd".

My Favorite Part

Is when Devon and her little sister Katie went to the mall with the popular crowd, and Katie was wearing a pink tutu and ice skated because she wanted to be in the Olympics. Katie also went around screaming that Devon had a boyfriend. I like this part because it was funny and I could relate to it since my little annoyance of a brother Bastian embarrasses me too.

Amalia, this is a very well written piece, especially the best part section where you make the comparison real. Including Bastion makes this quite authentic. Also this reads like a sixth grader wrote it, compared to your author page's voice. Keep up the good work, Amalia.
